The Beach

By Anna Greif

I feel the silky sand
In between my toes
As I walk
Along the beach

The children screaming
From the fun they have
And the parents
Lying by

As I walk I can see
The waves
Slapping the sand
On the seashore

If you look to the sky
You can see
The trees
Sway like African dancers.

Amazing findings at Belize

Crystal Skulls

In 1924, Anna Le Guillon Mitchell-Hedges when she was 17 years, found along with his adoptive father, the English explorer Frederick Albert Mitchell-Hedges, a crystal skull in the ruins of a Mayan temple city "Of the fallen stones "in Lubaantun at Belize. Except for the absence of cranial sutures, is an almost perfect reproduction of a woman's skull, it weighs is about 5 kilos and it consists of two parts, the lower jaw fits perfectly with the top.

Some of the features of the skull are:

  • It is made from extremely pure natural quartz, silicon dioxide "piezoelectric" anisotropic.
  • The two sides are carved in the same block of rock crystal.
  • There is no trace of instrument, even microscopic traces.
  • There is no signal of manufacture, it is impossible to date (the glass doesn’t age).

¡The manual production would have required 300 years of continuous work!

Belize legend

El Duende

For years people have been telling the story of the Duende to their children just to scare them or to prevent them from going out at night. I have heard many stories of the Duende for example the Duende as a Music Teacher. If you ever wanted to play aninstrument like a pro, them you must call the Duende at midnight in the middle of the street every Sunday. Eventually he will appear and wil ask you what do you want. Make sure that you have your thumbs hidden or else he will tear them off your hands. He will tell you some intructions you must do before you to bed for he will come to your house and do whatever he suppose to do and then the next day you will play that particular instrument like a pro!

Birds

Being at Belize yow will have the opportunity to observe hundreds of different species of birds. You can view over 100 species in just a few days. Belize has recorded over 540 species of birds within its borders. Because of the small population of Belize and the lack of industry, most of Belize has remained virtually unchanged. About 60% of the country remains forested, so it is the perfect habitat for birds and wildlife. Found on various islands for bird reserves such as reserves for the bird cat refused in Caye Caulker and a bird sanctuary on Man-of-War Cay where are the pelicans, frigate birds and brown bobbies. You will see more birds than you expected! So come to Belice and live in an exciting experience with birds.
